Derek's paper on active cross-stream migration has been published in Physical Review Letters. Congratulations Derek !

Mahendradev Dinesan and SGM Rasheed joined our lab for their Masters thesis. Mahendradev will work on collective behaviour of colloids in active nematics and Rasheed on anisotropic artificial swimmers and mammalian spermatozoa. Welcome Mahendradev and Rasheed !

Job Joseph joined our lab as a PhD student. He will be working on suspensions of flexible microswimmers. Welcome Job !.

Derek visited Prof. Holger Stark's group at TU Berlin as part of our collabration funded by the German Physical Society (DFG), where he also presented our work on Flagellar polymorphism under flow at the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG), 2024, at Berlin.

Tapan presented an invited talk at the "Emergent Trends in Physics", a national conference held online on Jun 16, 2021, at Tezpur University, India.

Derek has been selected for the prestigious PMRF fellowship. This is a competitive award and Derek is one of the only two students from IISER Tirupati who have received it this year. Read more about Derek's work here. .

German Physical Society (DFG) has accepted a grant to support our collaborative work with Prof. Holger Stark's group at TU Berlin, Germany. From our group, currently Vignesh works on this project. Read more about Vignesh's work here.

Tapan presented an invited talk on "Active particles in suspensions" in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur, India.

SERB, DST has accepted a Core Research Grant (CRG) for a combined project on active particles with Dr. Ravi Kumar Pujala as PI and Tapan as Co-PI. The grant funds a rare in-house collaboration between experiments and theory in the field of active matter. From our group, Ambareesh works in this project alongside doing his independent theoretical work. Read more about Ambareesh's current work here.
